Accountability Processes

Consent Violation Accountability Coaching & Transformative Justice

After the #MeToo Movement more and more people have been becoming aware of when touch is not wanted or even worse when they've been violated. This phenomenon has created an amplification of accusations and a lack of understanding of what can be done in these situations. It is often not a favorable choice to go to the police but it's also not favorable for someone to be let off the hook.

More and more people are hearing about Accountability Pods as a great alternative to more mainstream solutions.

Support for those harmed is also available. It is best practice that the one harmed also gets a "support pod" to support them finding professional resources, buffer communication between the accountability pod, and providing general support so they don't have to go it alone.

What is an accountability Pod?

A group of people (3-5) who are tasked with the accountability of a person who has done harm. This process lasts anywhere from 3-12 months or more. The Pod decides what the person is to be held accountable to and the steps that person needs to take to restore trust, show their work, and potentially make amends to the person who they harmed.
